I would love to meet with you to get to know you, your situation, and see how I can best support and guide you.  It would be a privilege to connect with you.  My hope for our first session would be to help you feel comfortable connecting with me, you’d have plenty of space to share what is going on, I’d ask questions to better understand you and your situation, then we’d work together to figure out what you are hoping to get out of our sessions together.  It would be an honour to have you develop trust in me.

My training and experience focus around working with individuals and couples, and integrating faith with counselling for those who desire that. I have a passion for healthy marriages and other relationships, bringing healing in areas of wounding and trauma, and helping people find healing and wholeness in their struggles.

Couples Approach: In working with couples I work from an Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT) framework, helping you better understand your patterns of connection and disconnection.  This typically involves looking at the issues, the ways you and your partner approach and/or withdraw, what’s going on behind what you’re doing (and not doing) in your thoughts and emotions, and what you are needing from your partner to bring about greater safety, understanding, and engagement.  This can help bring about healing and connection in your relationship.

Individual Approach: In working with individuals I specialize in depth-oriented, attachment focused, and emotion-focused psychotherapy helping you not only work on your current difficulties, but also exploring the development of your struggles in order to bring about long term healing and growth. In working with trauma, I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and other forms of trauma-informed therapy.
